Being a classroom teacher during Halloween can be a challenge. Sugar, excitement, and costumes are a trifecta of distraction for elementary and middle school students!
Planning for this distraction might be your best strategy and will prevent your own frustration as you try to focus on learning during the Halloween season.
This Halloween-themed choice board was originally designed by my friend Tonya Nugent. A few of the links were no longer working, so I added a few new activities of my own.

How to use a choice board
The key element of a choice board is student choice! Challenge your students to complete a minimum number of these activities. Some are heavy on fun and low on learning while others require more focus and attention. It’s the mix of levels that makes a choice board engaging.
This choiceboard can be used as a sponge activity in between lessons, or as a “brain break” when students are losing focus. Happy Halloween!
