As part of my daily routine, I scan dozens of blogs, visit a handful of Facebook groups and skim through Twitter. The goal: find the most helpful resources, tools, and articles that I can share with my teacher friends (that’s you!)

10 helpful links you should visit!

As part of my daily routine, I scan dozens of blogs, visit a handful of Facebook groups and skim through Twitter. The goal: find the most helpful resources, tools, and articles that I can share with my teacher friends (that’s you!)

Here are my top 10 links for February 2021!

Learn with Google Event (Feb 17) – Google is hosting a special event to talk about the future of their education products. RSVP to learn about the future of Chromebooks, Classroom, and more!

Custom background for Google Meet – This feature is turned off by default and must be enabled by IT admins.

Improved screenshots on Chromebooks – The next version of Chrome will include a major improvement on taking screenshots and screencasting on your Chromebook!

Chromebook Screensaver – Turn your idle screen into a smart display! If you have a Google home Nest hub or a Chromecast, you will recognize this display!

  • The new Chromebook screensaver can display Art and Earth imagery or photos from your library

Dino QR codes – The Chrome browser now has a built-in QR code creator with a cute dino included.

Handwriting with One by Wacom – This inexpensive accessory adds touch-screen capabilities to any laptop. Use it to annotate student work with Kami, draw with Jamboard, or your favorite app.

Improvements to Google Meet & Zoom on Chromebooks – Google has made some helpful behind-the-scenes updates to improve video quality for Chromebooks.

Virtual games from Arts & Culture – Challenge your students to complete a virtual jigsaw puzzle. It’s fun and the whole class can participate!

Valentine’s day activity ideas – This blog post compiles some creative ideas, templates, and resources from around the web!

Google Meet Enhancement Suite – this Chrome extension has some serious pro-level features. If you host a LOT of virtual meetings (like me), this is worth the investment.
